Who we are
Setanta Policy Institute (SPI) was founded on a simple idea: many of the systems and institutions that shape people’s lives are deeply complex, and too little effort is spent explaining how they actually work in practice. SPI exists to close that gap.
SPI combines policy analysis, investigative research, and systems-mapping to illuminate institutional behavior that is often hidden by bureaucracy or misunderstood in public debate. Our work prioritizes clarity, intellectual rigor, and accessibility for readers who need reliable, jargon-free explanations of complicated structures.
SPI is currently developing a portfolio of research projects focused on areas where public understanding is limited but consequences are significant. We aim to become a trusted resource for journalists, advocates, policymakers, and members of the public seeking to understand how government systems truly operate, and how they might be improved.
